The secondary risk is the reinvestment risk - if the bank exercises the right to repay the deposit before maturity , the depositor will cease to enjoy the enhanced interest , and reinvestment of the deposited amount may result in higher risks or lower returns than that would have been applied to the deposit had it not been repaid
